Father's Day Without Daddy

Hello all!  This is Father's Day weekend and if you still have your dad here with you I hope you have made plans to touch base with him this weekend and let him know you love him.  As you know if you read my last blog, my dad passed away in February so this is the first Father's Day without him.  I am not sure how to feel about that.  I have found myself scrolling through my memories quite often, remembering things from my childhood I thought I had long forgotten.  It's amazing what our minds retain when we start trying to retrieve those memories.  It's also amazing at the things that trigger those memories.  Sometimes the smallest things will bring back a long buried memory that brings a smile.  So I guess I will spend this Father's Day weekend in my memories because the time for making more memories is now gone.  So my prayer for you if you still have your dad is that you will take every opportunity to make beautiful memories because you never know just how soon those memories will be all you have left.  So I'll leave you with that thought for the weekend.  The 10 Commandments tell us to honor our father and mother so our days may be long on the earth.  Don't let this weekend be the only time you follow that command.  Wishing you all a blessed and safe weekend.

You will be in my prayers tomorrow on Father's Day. I know it will be a hard day for you ( and also for me, it will be my 41st wedding anniversary). I have a lot of wonderful memories of your mom and dad. Love you, Shirley

Thanks Shirley. I know we all need to remember each other, every day, for all kinds of reasons, but some days are just harder aren't they?
